Eket Community Development Foundation

In 2007, PNI Nigeria, with the support of Frontier Oil and Gas and Gulf of Guinea Energy, began the exciting process of establishing a new Community Development Foundation in the Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

A Short Overview of the Establishment Process:

• PRA Phase: Involving over 60 communities in Eket LGA
• Community Development Planning Phase; a initial confidence building project was identified and undertaken with the assistance of an interim management committee
• Institutionalisation Phase: Local programme staff of the CDF were recruited following an open and rigorous recruitment process.
• Formation of the General Assembly: elections were organised and conducted.
• Identification of a secretariat site centrally within the LGA.
