Eastern Obolo Community Development Foundation "Development of the people, for the people, by the people" After eight years of work with the Akassa community, Pro-Natura has introduced community-led development in Eastern Obolo Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom. Communities in Eastern Obolo have joined with Pro Natura to establish the Eastern Obolo Community Development Foundation
Led by an elected steering committee, the foundation’s mission is to implement development activities selected and defined by all members of the community using a participatory process. Although it focus is within Eastern Obolo, this Foundation has emerged as a leading agency for community development in Akwa Ibom State. Today it is recognized by several secondary stakeholders as being a responsible development agency with whom they can partner, including the Akwa Ibom State Government and the NDDC.

Formal Handover to Eastern Obolo PNI has handed over full administrative control of the Foundation to the Eastern Obolo Community. In a hand-over ceremony, attended by TEPNG, the Akwa Ibom State Government, the Eastern Obolo LGA Chairman, NAPIMS and other dignitaries, all stakeholder committed to working together to ensure the full and ongoing success of the the Foundation.
