Opobo Nkoro Community Development Foundation

After eight years of work with the Akassa community, Pro-Natura has introduced community-led development in Opobo Nkoro Local Government Area in Rivers State. Communities in Opobo and Nkoro have joined with Pro Natura to establish the Opobo-Nkoro Community Development Foundation

The Opobo Nkoro Community Development Foundation has overcome many challenges, including the culture of suspicion and mistrust. Training and capacity building by PNI Nigeria has enabled them to start to make a positive impact within their community. In Opobo Nkoro the communities selected diverse projects for its Development Plan ranging from training to small infrastructure and health programmes.

These videos look at how the programme seeks to address the- following local concerns:
Poverty (3.6mb)
Education (4.6mb)
Health (3.6mb)
Declining Natural Resources (4.3mb)
